2018 Twin Cities Actor Expo

presented by Twin Cities Film Fest

There are three opportunities for actors to audition with filmmakers and casting directors at the 2018 Twin Cities Actor Expo.  Please read over each audition opportunity carefully so you know the sign up process and what’s involved.  Once you register for the expo, you will be emailed information about the expo including links to sign up for audition times for the FILMMAKER AUDITIONS and MOCK AUDITIONS prior to the expo.  You can sign up for the The CASTING DIRECTOR PHOTO SHOOT the day of the expo.  All of these auditions fill up quickly.
Location – Community Room
A panel of filmmakers ( typically 10-20) will attend the the expo and spend the day auditioning actors for projects.  This may be for specific projects such as films, webisodes or television pilots.  Or filmmakers may simply be taking this opportunity to become familiar with the acting community in general.
To participate:
+Actors should prepare a one minute monologue or two person scene to perform.  Reminder – these are for on-camera projects.  Theater type auditions are less desirable.
+Sign Up for an audition time before the expo.   If you’re auditioning with a scene partner, simply sign up for ONE audition time.
+Complete a Filmmaker Audition Form. The link to this online form will be emailed after you register for the expo.  By completing this form, all of your contact information, headshot and resume will be available to the filmmakers electronically.  There is no need to bring printed materials to this audition.
+All auditions will be recorded and available to the filmmakers for reference.  Recorded auditions will not be available to the actors.
Hint – In the past, the filmmakers have responded best to the scene auditions as opposed to the monologues.  So partner up with an acting colleague and show us your craft!
If you have any questions regarding the Filmmaker Auditions, email Josh Dahlman at josh.dahlman@twincitiesfilmfest.org
Location – Green Room
Barbara Shelton, Casting Director and Owner of Bab’s Casting will be conducting her on-camera mock auditions in groups.  This opportunity allows actors to meet a veteran Twin Cities casting director and learn some audition techniques in a “hands on” environment.  All actors will be recorded and evaluated.  There is no preparation needed to participate in these mock auditions.  To sign up, a link will be emailed to you after you register for the expo.
Location – Upstairs Lobby
Lynn Steele, Casting Director and Owner of Lynn Steele Casting, will be conducting short “meet and greets” with actors that includes being photographed for her actor database.  To participate just dress to impress and sign up the day of the expo. Please note:  If Lynn has photographed you at a casting during the last year and a half, she does not need to see you this year.  She has your photos in her casting database.
